Amorkard Brown is a graduate of The University of the West Indies. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education. He is an effective leader that has earned many accolades. He is the Recipient of the Governor General’s Award for Excellence (2021) ,Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in Leadership (2013), Teacher of the Year (2019), Lasco Ambassador and currently the Youngest Master Teacher in Jamaica. Amorkard currently is a panelist for Master Teachers of Jamaica. Amorkard has been conducting professional development trainings for over 5 years. He is the founder of JaTEACH which is a seminar that assists teachers with perfessional development. Amorkard believes that, “Branding your teaching is the foremost important thing in becoming an effective teacher.“
Yes, you are paid the basic rate of a vice principal while carrying out your duties as a teaching specialist.
Once you are appointed as the National Teacher of the Year, you are also appointed as a Master Teacher.
